Great . . . Fantastic . . . Excellent – these are some of the words members used to describe the 2016 World Congress, held 18-20 September in Dublin, Ireland. The host firm, Duignan Carthy O’Neill, rolled out the red carpet to showcase Ireland and all the fun to be had in Dublin. Trinity College, perfectly poured pints, exciting Hooley Night at Johnnie Fox’s, and dining at the RHK made for an unforgettable experience!
The theme of the Congress, Connecting and Doing Business Together, which is an integral part of being an AGN member, was highlighted in all meeting sessions and social events.
Technical sessions included Foreign Direct Investment in Ireland, Using Social Media Data to Sell Professional Services-. AGN is very fortunate to have David Sneddon, Director of the Large Customer Sales Division at Google to teach us about using social media data to increase firm revenues, International Networking & Crowd Funding, and Mental Fitness. Breakout sessions featured BREXIT topics, computer, & cyber security, trends in technology, BEPS, business development, and managing practice performance.
The Congress saw 90 delegates, 41 delegate’s guests, and 8 staff. Several prospective members were also in attendance and certainly enjoyed themselves along with everyone else! It was announced in Dublin that the 2017 World Congress will be 5-7 November 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand.
